X6 2024 Price, Interior, Release Date – Practicality and style don’t always mesh well. If you look good wearing them, why care if an expensive pair of shoes destroy your feet? The original BMW X6 2024 must have been designed with this in mind over ten years ago. Designing a car with the utility of an SUV (or SAV in BMW lingo) and the aesthetic of a two-door coupe was never going to be easy. The end consequence was a vehicle that was less roomy in the rear and more costly than the X5.
With the popular X6 currently entering its third generation for the 2024 model year, BMW discovered lots of consumers who value style and design over functionality. With new drivetrains, an enhanced interior, and for the first time ever, a look that we don’t absolutely despise, the all-new X6 is here. In South Carolina, where we got the opportunity to test drive the X6 2024 model, we began to warm to the concept of an SUV coupe.
X6 2024 Redesign
Exterior And Interior Design
The X6’s very unique form makes it easily recognized, whether you like it or not. We think the new X6 2024 looks better than the most recent Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, despite the fact that Audi and Porsche did a better job making the Q8 and Cayenne Coupe seem like typical SUVs. According to BMW, the new X6 is 0.6 inches wider, 1.6 inches longer overall, and has an increased wheelbase. The X6 now has a more coupe-like shape thanks to a 0.7-inch reduction in height.
Trapezoidal adaptive full LED headlights up front sparkle like diamonds at night, and a whole new lighted grille option adds even more flair. While 21- and 22-inch wheels are also options, 20-inch wheels are the norm. The sportiest M50i has a deeper high-gloss black Shadowline finish and a Cerium Grey treatment on the kidney grille, exterior mirror caps, model badges, and exhaust tailpipes. The two six-cylinder variants are available with either the xLine or M Sport appearance packs.
With certain compromises, sitting in an X6 2024 is similar to sitting in an X5 or the bigger X7. The Swaroski crystal controls and panoramic Sky Lounge moonroof, two of our favorite cabin design features, are present here, although they are optional extras, just like they were on the X5 and X7.
The X6 2024, however, has a slightly cramped feeling as opposed to the X5 or X7. The A-pillar is more pronounced, creating the sense that you are operating an SUV rather than a two-door sports car. The sloping roofline also limits headroom in the rear seats, making the entire interior appear smaller. The back view is also significantly compromised by the tiny rear window, which gives the impression of being in a coupe. The X6 2024 can be enjoyable for you if you appreciate the experience of driving a little vehicle. However, we felt that the combination of the relatively small cabin and the SUV ride height was unusual.
X6 2024 Engine
There are three different engine choices for the X6 2024. (not counting the upcoming X6 M model). While the V8 is available with just all-wheel drive, the (not counting the upcoming X6 M model). While the V8 is available with just all-wheel drive, the six-cylinder base model of the X6 is available with either rear- or all-wheel drive. Thus, it surely helps if you can sell the identical item for less money.
The outstanding BMW B58 turbocharged inline-six engine, which begets 335 HP and 330 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic, is available in both the sDrive40i and xDrive40i models. According to BMW, the RWD sDrive model can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, while the AWD xDrive variant does it in 5.3 seconds. Each vehicle is capable of 130 mph on all-season tires and 155 mph on performance tires. With RWD or AWD, the combined city/highway/combined fuel efficiency is rated at 21/26/23 mpg.
We got the opportunity to test the far more powerful M50i model, which swaps the straight-six engine for a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is also found in the M850i model of the 8 Series. The M50i accelerates to 60 mph in under 4.1 seconds while packing nuclear bomb levels of power beneath the hood, slamming you into the leather seats in the process. The exhaust bark is as loud as an M-car, and having this much power in such a huge SUV is addictive. All of this power comes at a cost, though, as the M50i is only rated at 16/22/18 mpg in the city, highway, and combined fuel economy.
X6 2024 Release Date And Price
The BMW X6 2024 is more costly than an X5, despite being less useful, since BMW charges more for it. The starting price for the sDrive40i variant is $64,300 (plus a $995 destination fee), while the price for the AWD xDrive40i model is $66,600. The price of the M50i variant we drove skyrocketed to $85,650. Kelly explained that because the X6 is a “lower volume model,” “we don’t need as many models to please customers,” when we questioned why a less expensive xDrive50i V8 variant wasn’t also offered.
To put these costs in context, comparable X5 models start at $58,900, $61,200, and $82,150, respectively.
