Despite not following the traditional lines of a GT coupe or even a shooting brake, the Sportback manages to look good. Audi’s Sportback features a sculpted body that is dramatically contrasted by gaping air vents and forceful hood lines. This draws attention to the front of the car, which is exquisitely emphasized in some of the more vibrant color options. The hints of a tough motorsport past aren’t that subtle, in typical RS fashion, yet oddly enough, it works out fairly well. Audi-typical LED headlights are as cool as hell, and substantial 19-inch alloy wheels fill the blistered arches.

The front seats are a wonderful combination of private jet luxury and racing car ergonomics. They are heated and provide a variety of adjustment options. You can even get a massage if you’ve had a hard day at the country club. Front and rear cross-diamond stitching look terrific, and there are illuminated metal door sill inlays as well as the required RS badging. Although the sloping roof limits headroom for the family’s six-footers in the back seats, they are still usable. However, the extra pair of doors makes the coupe more practical than a standard coupe.
2025 Audi RS 5 Engine
It shares an internal engine that was created with the RS 5 and Porsche Panamera 4S, the 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6. This engine delivers power in a smooth, relaxed manner and emits a deep grumble, which is regrettably somewhat muffled by the turbochargers. It is best compared to an iron fist in a velvet glove. Some people may miss the linear urgency of the previous-generation V8 engine from Audi, but this new engine cranks out a ton of torque—443 lb-ft, to be specific. All of that pulling power starts to fade into a peak horsepower figure of 444 hp at just 1,900 rpm. The RS 5’s acceleration can rival that of a supercar with that much power. It can range from 0-60 mph in only 3.6 seconds and achieve a prime speed of 155 mph with an optional boost to 174 mph. Four wheels receive power through an eight-speed ZF gearbox. With so much available torque, the gearbox is happiest when left in automatic mode.

Although there isn’t any direct competition for the RS 5 in the USA, it is reasonably priced compared to vehicles of a similar size and performance. The starting price of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 is $74,600, while the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is $74,245.
