2024 Chevy 2500 Price, Release Date, Specs – Heavy-duty trucks are the market segment that seems blithely ignorant of anything having to do with EVs, hybrids, tax subsidies, or lithium shortages. There is no better option than regular gasoline or diesel for these industrious trucks to be able to haul or transport practically anything. The 2024 Chevy 2500 is no exception, as it now has a diesel engine that can provide up to 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Chevy couldn’t stop there, though, since a new Ford F-250 is on the way.
Because of this, the redesigned 2024 Chevy 2500 also features a much renovated interior, an off-road-oriented ZR2 variant, and a standard 10-speed automatic transmission in place of the previous model’s outdated six-speeder. The Silverado is now a pickup that is more comprehensive than ever.
2024 Chevy 2500 Redesign
Exterior And Interior Design
The outside of the 2024 Chevy 2500, which has recently been modified, serves as a reminder that creating a good-looking full-size truck is no simple undertaking. However, it has a lot of presence, which is what the typical buyer of a car like this values more. On the LTZ, ZR2, and High Country trims, changes to the front include a revised fascia and updated dual-projector headlamps. When approaching or departing the car, an animated lighting sequence adds a little flair.
The hood scoop has Chevrolet branding, and tow hooks are now included as standard. Sterling Gray, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, and Auburn Metallic are four of the new 2024 Chevy 2500 colors. Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Meteorite Metallic follow.
For the LTZ, a variety of new wheel styles are offered, including 20-inch wheels with a brilliant chrome finish and 20-inch off-road tires. For the first time, the High Country can be upgraded with a new Midnight Edition that includes 22-inch wheels, a black hood vent, black mirror skull caps, black power assist steps, and black accents to the grille in chrome.
The cabin of the contemporary 2024 Chevy 2500 truck is functional but has a fairly old style. It’s gratifying to note that the 2024 model has advanced significantly as a result. A significantly more luxurious instrument panel with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch infotainment display is available on models with the LT trim level and above. With Google’s built-in compatibility, it’s simple to access and utilize services like Google Assistant and Google Maps. It’s a world different from the seven- and eight-inch displays previously used.
2024 Chevy 2500 Engine
Regardless of the engine you select for your 2024 Chevy 2500, a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission is now required. The gas engine formerly employed a six-speed automatic gearbox; however, the improved transmission enables this mill to operate for longer periods of time closer to peak output. Additionally, because of the tighter gear ratios, engine braking control is improved.
The base engine for the 2024 Silverado 2500 is a 6.6-liter V8 with 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. It’s a good engine, but it falls short of the most recent Duramax 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel’s 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. The diesel now produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft more torque than it did previously. According to Chevy, low-end torque production has risen by up to 25%, making towing easier and enabling the truck to travel up steep inclines. In a truck this big, 0–60 times aren’t crucial, but both engines can accelerate a 2500 swiftly enough when it’s empty, and the diesel’s passing ability is a plus.
2024 Chevy 2500 Release Date And Price
When manufacturing starts in Michigan and Canada in the second half of 2023, the 2024 Chevy 2500 will go on sale. Around the same time as the new Ford F-250 Super Duty, it will be released.
The pricing of the 2024 Chevy 2500 has not yet been disclosed, but it will be done so closer to the truck’s arrival in the USA the following year. For comparison, the base price of the 2023 model is $40,500, while the most costly variation will cost twice as much. The new one will probably cost a little extra as well.
